The Ride
A lot has happened in the last year to me,
I found out what it was like to have surgery.
Not once, but twice,
First on the left, then the right.
And as if that wasn’t enough,
I started having pain in my side.
Pain with every sneeze.
Pain that would drop me to my knees.
A Pain I could not hide.
Proof that we can’t always be tough.
So once again, I am struck.
Another disease, to make three.
Hits like a truck,
A truck a full speed.
A cargo of disease,
GERD, NASH, Diabetes.
Will it slow,
Or will it end in a crash?
For this I do not know,
Only GOD knows what will come last.
GOD is in the driver’s seat.
So the choice is mine to stay or leap.
The ride is rough and frightful.
But the driver is most capable.
For it is in him that I must have faith,
Or else I will become just a wraith.
So I sit and ride.
Where we are going, I do not know.
Nor do I care.
He will let me know when we are there.
Your faith must not hide.
You must let it show.
Do not despair,
For He will reveal all when we are there . -MM
